The Bay Area QuarkNet Teacher Workshop will be a unique one-day opportunity for professional development in cutting-edge physics. Teachers will gain new insights in physics through a talk and tour at Berkeley Lab, try out new activities to bring back to the classroom and prepare students for a particle physics masterclass. All of it will center around the ATLAS experiment at CERN in which both UC Santa Cruz and Berkeley Lab are deeply involved in pushing forward the high energy physics frontier. Teachers are offered a $120 stipend for the day, lunch, mileage for commutes over 30 miles, and a great chance to meet and share with like-minded colleagues. Please note that registration is closed as of 30 January 2024.
